Music that
moves between
worlds.

Orchestral, chamber, vocal and screen music shaped by colour, rhythm and a strong dramatic instinct.

About

Judit Varga

Vienna-based composer with an international concert and film music practice, whose work spans orchestral, chamber, solo and vocal compositions, with performances in international concert halls and festivals.

Her music moves naturally between classical tradition, experimental currents and the dramatic worlds of film and stage. Recurring loops, kinetic energy and shifting perspectives shape a language that feels at once familiar, playful and unmistakably contemporary.

ACOM Podcast · Episode 2 — Judit Varga

Podcast2 July 2026Language: German

Judit Varga joins Martin Rotheneder for the second episode of the Austrian Composers Association podcast.

Article

The conversation traces her musical beginnings and personal sources of inspiration, her approach to commissions and her interest in physical movement as a compositional idea.

It also looks at her working process, composition software, perfectionism, the importance of live performance in new music, the use of artificial intelligence and the different economic realities of musical genres.

The episode places those practical questions alongside Varga’s artistic interest in motion and sound, offering a personal view of how ideas become finished music.
